Board of Directors
Mike Ewert is a founding member of the Houston Renewable Energy Group and served as president in the early 2000s. For decades, he has been involved in renewable energy education, research, solar tours, Earth Day events, and a model solar car program for elementary students. He recently retired from NASA, where he worked on development of thermal and life support technologies and received a patent for a solar refrigeration system.
Gage is a Senior Energy Consultant specializing in residential and commercial solar, battery storage, and EV charging solutions. Passionate about renewable energy education, he helps homeowners make informed decisions through honest, transparent guidance. As an HREG board member, Gage is dedicated to expanding solar adoption across Houston and supporting a more resilient energy future.
Divyesh brings over 30 years of business experience to the Houston Renewable Energy Group, where he has served as board member since 2020. He got his start working for his father’s family-owned business and over the years has founded several business ventures. Divyesh earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Ohio State University, which has shaped his lifetime advocacy for renewable energy.
Adriana is Sustainability Coordinator for the Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability at the University of Houston-Downtown. She holds a master’s degree in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Systems and leads campus sustainability initiatives while fostering partnerships among universities, nonprofits, industry, and the community to advance sustainability education and community engagement.
Steve is a retired Architect and former Director of the CE Green Building Resource Center for the City of Houston, former Board Member for the Greater Houston Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, and current Board Member for the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition-Houston. His leadership for Earth Day in Houston is legendary. He brings vision, technical expertise, and organizational knowhow to the Houston Renewable Energy Group.
Bill Swann walks and talks the message of going green. It’s easy. Purchase an electric car. I did. Don’t purchase ancient stored solar energy (fossil fuels) but rather purchase recently stored solar energy (wind power) or immediately stored solar energy (photovoltaics). I did that, too. Educate others. I do that by leading the HREG monthly solar workshop.
Advisory Board
Rob delivers advertising and marketing services to business and charity organizations. He brings 40 years of background in print and digital marketing, as well as extensive experience in civic and non-profit organizational development, to the Houston Renewable Energy Group as advisor.
Dori is a Senior Texas Program Associate with the non-profit Solar United Neighbors. She brings 30 years of experience in solar and is grateful to serve as an advisor to the Houston Renewable Energy Group.
